Taxes for Individuals
You should visit the State of Tennessee web site for specific details. However, in the Red Boiling Springs area, you will find:
Sales tax: 9.25%
State income tax on wages: none!
State income tax on most bank interest: none!
There is a state income tax on some kinds of interest income and some kinds of dividend income. The tax works out to about 6%, but usually the first one to two thousand dollars are exempt.
