History

The Armour's Red Boiling Springs Hotel is a two story native brick structure built in 1924 by attorney John Smith and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.  It was first called Smith's Brick Hotel, being the first brick hotel structure in town.  Later, and for most of its existence, it was known as the Counts Hotel.

In 1991, Brenda and Bobby Thomas renamed the hotel of today.  Unfortunately, throughout the years, the conditions had deteriorated slightly.  Desires to preserve Red Boiling Springs' history motivated the Thomas' to purchase the hotel, and they immediately began renovation of the building.  For many years, they continued their efforts to help revitalize the healing tradition of the area for all of the year-round guests.

The Armour's is now owned by Reba and Laban Hilton and managed by Reba's mother, Joy Pike.  They have owned the hotel since October 1999.  The Armour's is the only facility in the State of Tennessee that offers a mineral bath house.

Our rooms offer a chance to enjoy old-fashioned comfort.  Each room is individually decorated, unlike the assembly line hotel rooms you may be used to.  When you stay with us, you'll also enjoy a full country breakfast which is included in the room price.
